What Islam prohibits in finance

Before presenting our products, three prohibitions shape every Salam Capital contract.

Riba — interest / usury

Any surplus charged on a simple money loan, fixed or variable, is prohibited. “Allah has permitted trade and forbidden usury” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:275). Salam Capital's remuneration never comes from a rate applied to a lent sum, but always from a margin on a real asset — resale or leasing.

Gharar — excessive uncertainty

A contract cannot concern an uncertain object, price or term: the transaction must be clear to both parties, with no ambiguity or chance. At Salam Capital, the financed asset, its purchase price, the margin and the repayment schedule are fixed and communicated before signing — no vague clause, no variable rate.

Maysir / Qimar — gambling

Any gain that depends solely on chance, where one party's gain is the other's loss without real consideration, is prohibited — betting, lotteries, pure speculation. At Salam Capital, every contract rests on a real asset and genuine work or commercial risk, never on a bet.

Our products

Three contracts compliant with these principles

Each product replaces the interest-bearing loan with a sale, a lease or a margin-free loan, backed by a real asset and terms fixed in advance.
